Development Manager

The primary role of the Development Manager is to help plan and manage all fundraising activities, which include campaigns, appeals and events as well as membership drives and other related programs.  Included in the planning and management of fundraising activities is maintaining accurate records (and reports) of individual giving and results of events/campaigns.  Under the direction of the Executive Director/ CEO and leadership of the development committee, the Development Manager is also responsible for grant writing projects, both to maintain existing grants and to apply for new grants based on project and programs as determined by programming and project staff.

 Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, including golf classic, raffles, auctions, Capital Campaign and other fundraising events
  • Manage the CRM to maintain accurate event and donor records and reports
  • Prepare and assist in the development of grant requests and support materials to foundations, government agencies, and corporations for operating support/ sponsorship
  • Manage relationships with corporate supporters and foundation supporters including acknowledgment, benefit fulfillment, and stewardship
  • Work closely with department heads to identify fundraising needs, prospects and opportunities, especially cultivating members as donors
  • Research and identify potential new funding sources for foundation, individual, corporate and government support
  • Represent the organization at regional community and corporate events as assigned
  • Design online and print material when necessary for  fundraising campaigns

 

Education: Minimum undergraduate college

A concentration in non profit management, arts administration or fundraising preferred

Experience:  3-5 years related experience

Abilities: Prior experience with fundraising database software management (Experience                                             with SalesForce a plus)

Prior event planning experience

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; flexibility and ability to work in a team environment

Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products required

Prior experience with graphic design software helpful

Knowledge of the Delaware Valley philanthropic community preferred
