The Director of Development will assist the Executive Director of the AtlantiCare Foundation in transforming the organization's culture into one where major and planned gifts provide an increasingly higher proportion of gifts and dollars raised. This position will assist with the development and execution of an annual fundraising plan, ensuring that all fundraising activities are coordinated and implemented as planned. As the Foundation continues to evolve, the Director will be responsible for building the development function, expanding the Foundation's ability to accept all gift options. The Director of Development is also responsible for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts to support the efforts of AtlantiCare. The Director will interact closely with the Foundation Board members, Foundation staff, medical staff and AtlantiCare employees, and will manage a portfolio of current major donor prospects and will have the responsibility to grow that portfolio through cultivation of annual donors and event participants. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's License required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years' experience in non-profit management. 3 years of successful Major gift experience required. Fundraising experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment & Evaluation Tool. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position report to Executive Director and will supervise incumbents' as assigned.
