ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in a professional, preferably non-profit, environment with fundraising, development, and special events knowledge.

The Associate Director of Development will help create and implement annual development strategies that include:

Help manage the overall development efforts to raise unrestricted income

Manage annual giving campaigns and help cultivate major gifts using the Benevon model of fundraising

Assist in the organizing, planning and convening of fundraising and community events

Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate, foundation and individual donors

Work with team to develop and execute consistent communication to cultivate and grow donor base

Develop and execute online fundraising strategies, mobilization, campaigns and calls to action

Manage the organization's donor database and ensure timely communication with donors

Write grant proposals to corporate, foundation, and government funders

Assist with the organization's internet and social media efforts

Additional responsibilities as necessary, including administrative tasks, as they arise.

The ideal candidate will have experience in all facets of fundraising, including individual gifts, special events and community outreach with a proven track record of successfully securing competitive grants and implementing development strategies. Additionally the individual will have excellent writing and public speaking skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Associate Director of Development should have the following skills and experience:

BA/BS Degree is required. Previous experience in fundraising field, including individual gifts, special events and community outreach is preferred Must have excellent proven writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills, and must be interested in a career in development with a focus on individual giving and special events Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to help drive projects to completion and multi-task Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting and willingness to work a flexible schedule with minimum supervision is also required Experience with donor management software is a plus Knowledge of, or experience in, online fundraising, nonprofit advocacy, and community outreach is a plus Occasional participation in evening and weekend community events would also be expected.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Associate Director of Development is hired by the Executive Director and reports to the Director of Community Development who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.
