Organization

The Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America, provides character development programs to over 12,000 youth (boys ages 6-18, young men and women ages 14-20) in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties, seeks a Development Director.

Essential Functions

Responsible for actively cultivating and soliciting new funding opportunities and development strategies for a broader base of donors.

Responsible for identifying potential grant opportunities and providing oversight to the proposal preparation.

Responsible for maintaining current and accurate fund raising donor records.

Responsible for budget development and the fund raising portion of the council operating budget.

Works with the council's leadership to identify prospects for the council's Development Committee.

Assist in the cultivation, solicitation and acquisition of major gifts including operating, endowment and capital.

Must be willing to travel in New Jersey. Requires a reliable vehicle and a valid New Jersey Driver's License

Qualifications

4 Year College degree, Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of practical related development experience.

Salary

Commensurate with work experience
