Summary: The Corporate and Foundation Programs unit is the central office through which high quality, consistent fundraising programs and platforms are created that reflect the organization’s fundable strategic opportunities. It is also the primary office though which corporate, foundation and new market strategy is developed to maximize fundraising locally, regionally, nationally and globally. The Corporate Strategy Officer is responsible for helping develop and implement corporate giving programs and strategies to meet annual corporate fundraising goals. This position will work closely with the fundraisers to execute compelling sponsorship and funding programs and platforms.
Responsibilities: Creates and implements programs and platforms, like membership programs and middle market solutions, as well as the delivery of benefits. Ensures compliance with corporate donor requirements including timely reports and metric-driven results. Advises on the corporate fundraising strategy and objectives to maximize fundraising locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Works closely with field based corporate fundraisers to maximize the fundraising opportunity, execute corporate fundraising tactics, and ensure donor satisfaction. Identifies and implements best practices in corporate fundraising. Reviews and analyzes programs regularly to ensure goals and objectives are met. Develops resources and training programs, and provides support for Red Cross fundraisers regarding corporate programs. Establishes successful working relationships with Divisional fundraisers and key field units to create cross-functional collaboration and to identify potential funders.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Marketing, Business, English, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a relevant field. A minimum of five years related experience working with a nonprofit in corporate fundraising or in corporate sales. Knowledge of corporate fundraising principles and techniques. Experience coordinating projects, preferably in a large organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail and project management. Strong customer service orientation is necessary. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team. Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle deadlines, pressure and changing priorities with good judgment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary and experience with a donor management system (like Raiser’s Edge) is highly preferred. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and 25% of business travel are required.
